Free Christian Literature Distribution
13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality Romans 12: 13 (New International Version)
Since 1999, IPFA church has been reaching various communities through out Kenya with distribution of God's Word. This is one of our key strategies in reaching the lost and building souls in salvation with the true word of God. Our mission through this programme is to advance the Kingdom of God through distribution of Bibles, Scripture materials, tracts and other Christian resources to all so as to get God’s Word into the hands of many people so they may become true and committed disciples of Jesus Christ.
Christian literature and Bibles are still very expensive and unaffordable to millions in our country. Millions especially those living in the rural and slum areas where a majority of the poor exist have never had an opportunity to read and own the bible or even hear about the Good News of Christ. Each day we go for outreach missions, we come in contact with dozens of those people who are drowning without Christ in their life.
Also in some Churches we have visited in Kenya and the East Africa region in general, we have found congregations of more than 200 people having less than 10 people with a Bible. We have also found some Churches in remote villages where pastors have no Pastors bibles. When we asked one in Ugenya village in Siaya District Kenya how he manages to minister without a Bible, he said “I just memorize verses when I am reading a Bible of a friend and sometimes I preach what I have heard from the other Pastors with Bibles”. There is also one we found in Bomangombe village in Tanzania who used to borrow a Bible to use on Sunday from one Christian who only had it in the Church. Can you believe that some churches survive on only one Bible? These are real needs on the ground confronting us!
In an effort to ensure that the Good News of Christ reaches to many, we distribute free of charge; Christian books, bibles and Gospel tracts in schools, hospitals, prisons, markets and gatherings, village churches and Pastors, in conferences and crusades, and in remote villages and slums during our outreach missions. However, our capacity to do this is still lacking because of the limited resources we have. Many times, we completely have no supplies of Christian literature, tracts and Bibles to give since they are on very high demand by the local people which exceeds our current capacity to freely distribute. To meet the great need for Bibles and Christian literature worldwide, we depend upon the response of Christians, Churches and organizations like you, reading about the need and understanding the importance of serving our needy brothers and sisters in remote villages and slums.
We need thousands of Bibles, tracts, Children’s Bibles, training materials, Christian literature and other Christian materials in Uganda. We will appreciate receiving support of these resources in English and other local languages in Kenyalike Kiswahili, Luo, Kikuyu,Kamba and Luhya for the local people who can not read English to be able to read the Bible and other Christian literature in their own language.
